Canon EOS C500 MK2 receives Cinema RAW LT/ST/HQ with new firmware

12 bits, scalable and without chroma subsampling – the update gives the C500 Mark II the ability to record in several 12-bit Cinema RAW formats.

Canon releases new firmware for the cinema camera Canon EOS C500 Mark II. The update provides several new options for internal recording in 12-bit Cinema RAW: Cinema RAW Light LT, ST, and HQ. These formats are available for full-frame, 4:3, 6:5, Super 35mm, and Super 16mm sensor modes.

The Canon EOS C500 Mark II is one of Canon's cinema cameras capable of recording video in 5.9K across the full sensor, internally in RAW format.

The format modes have previously been made available for the EOS R5 C and EOS C70. More information about the update for the C500 Mark II can be found on Canon's website.
